Why submit your pet to a series (and added expense) of Preanesthetic Tests?
Blood tests: These test for: - kidney and liver function (important in rapid elimination of the anaesthetic agent) during and after surgery
- presence of infection or anemia which can seriously influence the outcome of a surgical procedure
Heart function: Determined by routine electrocardiogram (ECG) and blood pressure monitoring. An echocardiographic study may be necessary if abnormalities are detected in the ECG.
Results of these tests influence the decision on which would be the safest anaesthetic for your pet.
